American Airlines has SFO to Geneva at $416 round trip for summer departures starting early August using Finnair’s nonstop flight to Helsinki for a one-stop itinerary to Switzerland. Return flights are via a short flight to Madrid and Iberia nonstop to SFO. Surprisingly, these low fares are primarily only for August travel.
Itineraries I saw force an overnight in Helsinki on a 17 hour or so layover. Helsinki has easy airport transportation to city center if you want a quick visit in spite of jet lag. Helsinki hotel pries are more affordable than the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

Munich $464 round trip in August
A similar routing is available via Finnair and Iberia for Munich for about $485 round trip or an even cheaper $464 ticket is available for San Francisco-Munich with one stop flights via Philadelphia.

$464 ticket prices show up on many dates in August on Google Flights, however, I was unable to find a direct link for booking these American Airlines operated flights. Momondo.com search pulled up $464 round trip tickets through Finnair, Iberia and British Airways codeshares for these AA flights.
As an aside, I have been reading about Bavaria and planning out travel routes for this summer along the Danube River of Germany and the Romantic Road route for historic towns of Bavaria. I will be arriving in Vienna and still trying to map out an itinerary for places to visit. As always, so many choices to make for so little time in Europe.
