Starwood Preferred Guest-SPG has what could possibly be its final sale of Starpoints at 35% off through May 31, 2018. This limited time offer reduces the price of points from $35 per 1,000 to $22.75 per 1,000 points when you buy 5,000 or more points. Starpoints can be purchased in increments of 500 points, up to a maximum 30,000 points.

- 5,000 points = $113.75 (minimum spend for 35% discount rate)
- 10,000 points = $227.50
- 30,000 points = $682.50 (maximum purchase limit)
SPG hotel loyalty program will be merged with Marriott Rewards and Ritz Carlton Rewards August 1 into a new and different unified hotel loyalty program for the world’s largest hotel chain.
The three current hotel loyalty programs: Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest will continue on in name for the remainder of 2018 under a unified set of program rules for all three programs beginning August 1. A new program name will be announced for the unified program to replace the current hotel loyalty program names for 2019 calendar year.
SPG members can transfer Starpoints to Marriott Rewards points at a ratio of 1 SPG point = 3 Marriott Rewards points, effectively making this SPG sale an opportunity to buy Marriott Rewards points for $7.58 per 1,000 points.
SPG has a 30,000 points calendar year purchase limit.
