Starwood Hotels 6 of 77 international hotels did not drop SPG category March 6 as announced

In early February 2018 SPG published a list with 131 hotels scheduled to drop in reward category on March 6, 2018. There were 54 hotels in North America and 77 hotels in other global regions. Turns out 5 international hotels did not change category and one Luxury Collection hotel appears to have left Starwood Hotels.

The Astor Hotel Tianjin, Luxury Collection is no longer listed on SPG website.

This hotel was posted as changing from SPG category 3 to SPG category 2. The hotel is no longer listed on Starwood Hotels websites.

I did find any news about this change and there are no TripAdvisor reviews from the hotel in the past month.

Anyone know what is happening with Astor Hotel Tianjin?

  1. Rick, you can add Four Points Las Vegas to the list…was supposed to be dropped to a category 3 but no dice, as confirmed in Flyertalk.
