IHG app 5k bonus points

Analysis

Obviously this offer is an easy 3,000 points for an IHG booking I would make anyway.

Bonus Points Package component for an additional 2,000 points is the aspect of this offer that requires more research.

Holiday Inn Express Warsaw Airport

April 2, 2018 Double Bed

  • $67.50 USD advance purchase, nonrefundable
  • $74.84 USD cancel by 6pm, April 1
  • $81.90 USD 1,000 bonus points per night package rate

Paying an extra $14.40 for the bonus points package rate earns 1,000 bonus points for the package rate + 2,000 bonus points IHG app booking. This works out to $4.80 per 1,000 points compared to the advance purchase rate and $2.35 per 1,000 points compared to IHG member best flexible rate.

Looks like a good deal offer to me for an IHG hotel stay booked through IHG app by April 30.

Comments

  1. I value 5k ihg points $5. So it is pathetic offer. Most standard room costing $100 wants 50000 points.

  2. @Jim – I booked hotel nights in London and InterContinental Kiev over the next two months for 15,000 points per night. I place a higher value on IHG points for my travels.

@Ali – Probably not. Eligible stay usually means a stay that earns points.
