Kimpton stay by April 30 earns 10,000 IHG points

IHG sent me an email offer on Feb 6 titled “Let’s celebrate: Earn 10,000 bonus points at Kimpton hotels with Accelerate”. The offer is 10,000 points for one stay by April 30 and states it is part of my Accelerate offer, yet there is no mention of this bonus on my IHG Accelerate page.

I had to be quick to grab a screenshot of a page that appears for a flash of a second before my Accelerate tasks page loads.

During the last Fall 2017 Accelerate promotion there were new bonus offers added to my tasks list later in the promotion.

This Kimpton task does not appear on my Accelerate 2018 task list.

IHG Accelerate

Some blogs have mentioned this offer is targeted. Frequent Miler states that it might be targeted to IHG Rewards Club members who have not stayed at a Kimpton lately. My last stay was around 10 years ago, although I have spent time hanging out in a lot of Kimpton Hotel lobbies over the past decade.

The cheapest Kimpton I have seen that I could work in a stay during my travels is $150 per night. I value 10,000 points at about $50. The stay would also earn about 2,000 points for hotel spend and another 2,000 points for completing 1 of 5 nights for the 10,000 points Accelerate task, if I get all 5 nights by April 30.

Seems like a good offer. Check your email around February 6 for “Let’s celebrate: Earn 10,000 bonus points at Kimpton hotels with Accelerate”.
