My Incredible IHG Accelerate Year in Review

IHG Rewards Club sent me an email Dec 15 titled “A look back on your year”. When I clicked on the link, an animated graphic revealed my incredibly rewarding year with IHG Rewards Club.

In 2017, $800 in IHG hotel spend paid for 7 hotel nights and earned 120,000 points. Redeeming 37,000 IHG points bought 5 hotel nights with a room rate value of $960.

My IHG Year in Review so far is basically 12 hotel nights stayed for $800 in spend, while earning 83,000 IHG Rewards Club points.

Before the end of December 2017, I plan to spend $200 more on 2 more IHG hotel nights and earn another 30,000 points.

$712 for 7 Paid Hotel Nights earned 99,745 points.

Hotel Indigo Krakow, Poland $214 USD (2 nights) earned 23,004 points.

Holiday Inn Krakow, Poland $103 USD (1 night) earned 20,579 points.

Crowne Plaza London Kensington High Street $235 USD (2 nights) earned 21,445 points.

With the exception of a last minute emergency room night at Crowne Plaza London Gatwick due to a missed flight, my other four paid hotel stays were all purposefully planned to fulfill IHG Accelerate task bonus points promotions.

Lowest room rate was $170.

  1. Congrats. I always enjoy the surprise amount of points that return to my account from the Ambassador Program each year. While I hit Hyatt Globalist, Marriott and SPG Platinum and Hilton Diamond for another year, I always make sure to stay at some of my most favorite IHG properties such as the IC Hong Kong, the IC Park Lane London, the Willard in DC, the Barclay NY, and I never miss a chance to stay at the Mark Hopkins San Francisco. On a recent trip to the Mark Hopkins, we were impressed to learn that because it was our 10th stay that they upgraded us to the Solarium Suite. I fully agree with you that IHG and their card are unique treasures and they do take care of their loyal guests.
