ORGANIZER AND APPLICABLE LAW
Société Air France, hereinafter referred to as the “Organizerâ€, a French public limited company capitalized at 126,748,775 euros, with registered head office 45, Rue de Paris 95747 Roissy CDG Cedex, France, recorded in the Bobigny Trades and Company Register under number 420495178, is organizing a free competition with no obligation to purchase.
The Competition, the Website and interpretation of the Competition rules herein are subject to United States law. The Competition is accessible at exploretheworld.airfrance.com (hereinafter referred to as the “Websiteâ€).
Participation
By entering the Competition, you accept the terms, conditions and provisions of the present Competition rules, accessible on the Website by all participants and at any time throughout the Competition on the website.
Conditions for participation in the Competition
The Competition is open from 9:00 a.m. EST on November 13, 2017 until 11:59 p.m. EST on December 4, 2017.
The Competition is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old as of the date of entry. Employees of the Sponsor or any other party associated with the development or administration of this Sweepstakes, including but not limited to employees of affiliates, subsidiaries and joint venture partners, and the immediate family (i.e., parents, children, siblings, spouse), and persons residing in the same household as such employees, are not eligible to enter or win. Individuals who have won any Sweepstakes or Contest in the last 3 years sponsored by Air France, or any Sweepstakes or Contest where the prize awarded was provided by Air France, are not eligible to enter this promotion.
Information about participants
Subject to their explicit consent or, as the case may be, in the absence of any objection on their part, the information collected about the participants may be used by the Organizer and / or its partners to better serve them and to inform them of their new products and offers that may be of interest to them.
Validity of participation
The information and contact information provided by the participant must be valid and truthful, otherwise he or she may be excluded from the competition and any winning status will be lost.
It is strictly forbidden, by any means whatsoever, to modify or attempt to modify the proposed features of the competition, in particular in order to modify the results thereof or to influence by automated or unfair means the validity of the draw or the designation of a winner. If a participant is found to have been randomly drawn or has apparently won a prize in contravention of these rules, by fraudulent means such as an automated search or use of an algorithm, or by any other means other than those resulting from the procedure described by the Organizer on the website or by these regulations, the prize concerned will not be allocated and will remain the property of the Organizer, without prejudice to any prosecution likely to be brought against the participant by the Organizer or by any third parties.
It is strictly forbidden for a participant to enter by utilizing multiple e-mail addresses as well as to entering from another player’s account for the benefit of another person. A single player’s account will be opened by the same person with the same surname, first name and address.
PRINCIPLES OF THE COMPETITION
How to Enter
To enter the Competition, the participant must:

- Sign up by filling in the entry form as defined in Article 2 of the rules and click on “Validate” to validate his or her participation. If he / she is already signed up, the participant can click on “have you already played?”;
- Answer five questions correctly out of the twenty that make up the quiz. Once the participant has obtained five correct answers, he / she is not obliged to finish the quiz.
After having correctly answered at least five questions, the participant may, if he or she wishes, invite his or her friends and relatives to participate in the Competition on the website:
- Either by indicating the valid e-mail address of a friend or relative in the space reserved for this purpose;
- Or on Facebook, where he or she will be subject to the general conditions of use of Facebook:
- Or on Twitter, where he or she will be subject to the general conditions of use of Twitter.
Invitations sent by the participant to his / her friends & family
The participant may decide, if he or she so wishes, to invite some of his friends or relatives to sign up for the Competition. In this case, the participant may, in his or her capacity as holder and in charge of the processing of the e-mail addresses of his friends or relatives, provide the Organizer with their e-mail addresses so that the Organizer can send them on behalf of the participant their invitation to participate in the Competition.
The participant must take the initiative and responsibility to provide the e-mail address of his / her friends or relatives for the purpose of sending such an invitation. He or she must undertake to obtain the explicit and informed consent of the holders of the e-mail addresses that he or she provides to the Organizer. The Organizer acts only on the will and on behalf of the participant as a technical service provider for sending the participant’s messages. As a result, the participant releases the Organizer from any liability arising from the e-mails of friends or relatives he or she provides to the Organizer and the sending of an invitation message to such friends or relatives.
The Competition Organizer and Operator on behalf of the Organizer process the traffic and connection data to the Competition website and retain, in particular, the identifier (IP address) of the computer used by a participant for the purposes of establishing visitor statistics for the website, ensuring the security of the website and verifying the sincerity and fairness of participation in the Competition and the compliance with the rules, in particular to prevent or detect any automated request on the website or any automated invitation to third parties which would systematically lead to the exclusion of the participant concerned and to any prize and would expose the participant concerned to legal proceedings that may be brought against him or her by the Organizer or by third parties. If necessary, the Organizer may make such traffic data available to third parties or public authorities under the conditions laid down by law.
For each person invited by a participant who decides to sign up for the game, they may receive one additional chance of being drawn. The e-mail addresses of a member’s friends or relatives provided by the participant must be valid and different from each other to be counted towards the benefit of the participant. Multiple entrants may not share the same email address.
PRIZES
One prize will be awarded during the Competition. The prize consists of two (2) roundtrip Economy class tickets, valid for transportation between January 1-December 31, 2018. (One round-trip ticket for Winner, One Round-Trip ticket for Travel Companion).
The aforementioned components constitute the “Prizeâ€. Total ARV of the Prize is $4,000. Winner and travel companion shall be responsible to pay all applicable individual taxes related to the acceptance and use of the Prize.
All flights are subject to availability, blackout dates and restrictions, where applicable. All transportation provided is subject to fare rules and Air France’s Contract of Carriage.
The following additional terms/conditions apply:
Relative to the Air France round-trip Economy class tickets, Winner and travel companion must depart from a Air France United States gateway. In the event that at time of Winner’s travel dates Air France no longer operates from the original gateway, tickets will be reissued departing from another USA gateway where Air France still operates. In all cases, Winner/travel companion shall be responsible for all costs associated with transportation to and from the outbound Air France USA gateway. The Air France round-trip Economy class tickets are only valid for transportation on Air France operated flights (i.e. no codeshares) and may not be applied towards accruals for any frequent flyer or similar-type program. Tickets may be subject to certain restrictions, including without limitation, availability and blackout dates; Sponsor will attempt to accommodate the Winner’s preferred dates but has no obligation to do so and all specifics thereof will be at Air France’s sole discretion. Air France flight numbers and dates of travel for the Winner’s traveling companion must mirror those of the Prize Winner (i.e. they must travel together); all terms and conditions attached to Winner’s travel shall also apply to travel companion. The routing of the Economy class tickets must be directed only to the agreed upon destination. No additional travel is allowed with the Economy class tickets; segments other than the flights to the destination cannot be added to the tickets. Air France will report value of prize as required by law. Air travel must be prescheduled by Air France no more than six (6) months prior to departure. Tickets must be issued and used by December 31st, 2018.
The winner and his / her travel companion must imperatively travel together, on the same dates and on the same flights. Travel companion must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of travel or accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian. Winner and travel must obtain all necessary travel documents, at their own expense. Winner and travel companion are responsible all additional expenses, including but not limited to the cost of any additional air/ground transportation, meals, lodging and tours.
Tickets can only be booked during the reservation period specified in the rules and used only during the travel period specified in the rules. If the reservation is not made during the reservation period, the Winner will lose his / her prize.
The total amount of the reservation for the prize tickets won cannot exceed 4,000 USD (four thousand dollars) including tax.
Once issued, tickets are non-refundable, non-rerouteable, non-endorseable and have no cash value. Tickets may not be applied as a credit against any frequent flyer account, including but not limited to Flying Blue.
Tickets will be issued in electronic format only.
The itinerary receipt will be sent to the winner by e-mail.
Winner will determine the desired dates of stay, depending on the seats available at the time of booking. The stay may not exceed 30 days from original departure.
Organizer is not responsible for any incident or accident occurring during the Winners’ stay.
The Prize does not include cancellation and repatriation insurance or any other expense not specified in the description above.
The Organizer of its service providers reserve the right to replace any prize that is not available to them by another prize of equivalent value.
The Prize cannot give rise to any dispute or claim of any kind.
Winner will be provided with an IRS Form 1099 for tax purposes. Winner is solely responsible for any personal tax obligations due Federal/State/Local tax authorities.
DESIGNATION OF WINNERS
The winners will be selected by random draw on December 6, 2017 using a random designation algorithm.
The winners will be selected after verification of their eligibility for the prize.
Within 2 business days of the selection date, the winner will be notified of the terms and conditions of his or her prize by e-mail to the e-mail address indicated on the entry form.
If a randomly selected participant does not reply within 15 days of receiving this email, he / she will be deemed to have forfeited his or her prize and the prize will remain the property of the Organizer.
The winner’s name and surname may be obtained by sending a stamped envelope bearing the applicant’s address to the Organizer at the address given in Article 6 below within one month of the draw.
The Organizer may publish the name and the prize won by the winners on and off-line, without giving him or her any rights other than the provision of the prize. However, if the winner does not wish to use his / her name in the above framework, he / she may make this request by mail within 7 (seven) days from the date the competition ends, sent to:

The winner must comply with the rules. Should it prove that he or she does not meet the criteria of these regulations, his or her prize will not be awarded to them. Participants shall authorize all checks concerning their identity, age, postal address or the loyalty and sincerity of their participation. Any false declaration, identification or false address implies the immediate elimination of the participant and, if necessary, the refund of the prizes already sent.
FREE PARTICIPATION
No financial compensation or expense in any form may be claimed from participants as a result of their participation. The expenses incurred for the participation in the prize draws online will be refunded on request sent exclusively by letter to the Operator of this Competition assisting the Organizer in the organization of the Competition:

The set refund amount corresponding to the possible telephone communication costs incurred to register for the Competition, to participate and to log in to view the results will be €0.61.
Any request for refund must be sent within 15 (fifteen) days of participation and include the following documents and information concerning the participant as soon as they are available for refund:
– their surname, first name, postal address and e-mail address
– a photocopy of their identity card
– the date and time of participation
– as soon as it is available, a photocopy of the detailed invoice from the telephone company and / or the access provider. This photocopy will serve as proof of residence.
No refund request sent by e-mail will be considered. However, any access to the website made on a free or fixed basis (by means of a cable, ADSL, Wi-Fi or specialized connection, etc.) cannot give rise to any refund in so far as the fact for the participant of connecting to the website and participating in the Competition will not incur any specific expenses.
Responsibility
The images used on the website, the objects represented, the brands and names mentioned, the graphic elements, the computer data bases and the databases making up the website, are the exclusive property of their respective owners and cannot be extracted, reproduced or used without written authorization of the latter, on pain of civil and / or criminal prosecution.
Any resemblance of characters or elements of the Competition with other fictitious characters or other elements already existing would be purely fortuitous and could not lead to the responsibility of the Organizer or its providers such as the Operator of the Competition acting on behalf of the Organizer.
The Organizer or its service providers, such as the Operator acting on behalf of the Organizer, cannot incur any liability if, in case of force majeure or events beyond its control or justified necessity, it has to cancel, extend, postpone or modify the terms of the present Competition, and its liability cannot be incurred as a result. In any case, it reserves the right to extend the period of participation. In particular, the Organizer or its service providers decline any responsibility in the event that the website is unavailable during the duration of the Competition, or in the event of a malfunction of the automated prize draw process which would not be attributable to it or in case the information provided by participants was destroyed for a reason not attributable to it.
