Monterey Rodeway Inn $38
Monterey Rodeway Inn shows a $38 Preferred Customer Savings Rate, the name for this offer, compared to $44 advance purchase rate. The $44 rate has been the standard low weekday rate since September at this hotel. An earlier Choice Privileges Preferred Customer Savings promotional sale in August lowered the rate to $42.
Monterey Rodeway Inn is a hotel I have used for mattress runs during the 2 stays = 8,000 Choice Privileges points. The most recent edition of that recurring offer ended November 11.
Prague Clarion City
Yesterday, I took advantage of Choice Privileges Madness Deal #2 for 5,000 bonus points on a hotel stay booked Nov 14 and completed by Dec 31.
I had a reservation at Clarion Prague City for 10,000 points. All week long the price for Choice Privileges points is $7.70 per 1,000 points with Madness Deal #1 unveiled on Monday. Basically, I had a $77 room night in Prague based on the cost to buy 10,000 points.
I changed my reservation to a nonrefundable prepaid 88 EUR ($104 USD) rate. In addition to getting my 10,000 points back from the reward night I cancelled, I will earn about 6,200 points from the paid stay as a Choice Privileges Platinum member (25% elite bonus points).
I have stayed in several Choice Hotels where 16,000 points will book a hotel night or nights worth more than $200, which makes paying $103 for a night in Prague the better value for me on this Clarion hotel stay.
Good thing I did not wait for the 15% Preferred Customer Savings Rate at Clarion Prague which posted today as 99 EUR per night. The 88 EUR advance purchase rate remains the best deal at this Prague hotel. And I will earn 5,000 bonus points by booking during yesterday’s Choice Privileges flash sale.
