Luxury hotel news grabs my attention today with new openings. The Ritz-Carlton, Hotel de la Paix, Geneva is located in a Geneva historic hotel from 1865 overlooking Lake Geneva. The property enters Marriott Rewards as a Tier 3 hotel reward at 50,000 points per night.
InterContinental Ljubljana opened as the tallest hotel building at 20 stories in the capital city of Slovenia. The hotel has 165 rooms including 15 suites. IC Ljubljana enters IHG Rewards Club at 35,000 points for a reward night.
Another hotel project announced is a Rosewood Hotel plan to remodel and occupy the 1960 U.S. Embassy building on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, London. Removing the high metal fencing around the property will be a welcome adjustment to Grosvenor Square. Rosewood Hotels are true luxury hotels and no points program arbitrage opportunities with loyalty programs. This project will be a few years in the making.
Curio Collection by Hilton will arrive in the Netherlands in 2020 when The Monastery Hotel Koningsbosch is scheduled to open in an 1873 monastery building in Limburg province near the German and Belgium borders.
The 100 room hotel will be situated inside a stunning former monastery, originally built in 1873, and will host an upscale restaurant and bar. The hotel, esteemed for its neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque architecture, will maintain its independent character in a situation perfect for a peaceful getaway in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The countryside surrounding the hotel will attract those with an active mindset, with a number of outdoor activities such as trekking and cycling on offer in the nearby area.
With three new hotel openings, Best Western spreads across Georgia the country, not the state.
My initial searches indicate these hotels are better value at paid rates compared to reward night rates. Batumi is Georgia’s Black Sea beach resort city. Best Western Batumi is a seaside location.
In an off-season rate check for November I see reward nights at 16,000 points when advance purchase rates are $33.44 USD.
