IHG Rewards Club Accelerate promotion for stays September 1 to December 31, 2017 is open for registration. Members will receive tasks for a minimum 30,000 bonus points.

My offer is another set of easy Accelerate tasks for potentially 46,000 bonus points. I am certain I will pick up 30,000 bonus points with two hotel nights and potentially 40,000 bonus points, if I stay five paid nights by Dec 31.

IHG Accelerate tasks Sep1-Dec 31

Task 1: 2,000 points = Stay one time

Task 2: 2,400 points = Cash & Points stay

Task 3: 1,500 points = IHG MasterCard spend

Achievement Bonus: 24,100 points = complete 3 tasks.

30,000 Bonus points with one paid night and one Points & Cash night.

Achieving these tasks is no problem.

In addition, I can earn 3,000 bonus points for a September stay. This is one I don’t know if I will meet. No plans for September travel at the moment.

Task 4: 10,000 points = Stay 5 nights.

There is relatively high probability I will stay 5 paid nights by December 31 with two trips to Europe in the works before the end of the year.

New York Task: 3,000 bonus points. I give this task a near 0% probability. No plans to be in New York this year.

I basically see earning 30,000 bonus points with one $60 paid night and one $40 to $70 Points & Cash night. I earned 35,000 bonus points with one $60 night in Warsaw in June.

I’m loving my IHG Accelerate promotions in 2017.

Holiday Inn Express Warsaw Airport $58 night earned 34,828 points (July 24, 2017).

    As for the POINTS and CASH part of the stay requirement, most IHG hotels cost at least 10,000 points plus the cash portion (which varies). My question is how good of a deal is it to burn 10,000 points (in the form of a purchase) only to get 2,500 for completing that task?

    @Janice – Paid stays.
    IHG terms:
    A Stay constitutes a “Qualifying Stay” when member pays qualifying rates.

    @Rad – I will be in London needing a hotel room, which I would likely use Points & Cash anyway for discount rate. I pay $70 and earn 26,500 points. Essentially get back the 25,000 points I spend and receive a hotel night in London for $70. Good deal for me.

    Alternatively, I also have my eye on a 10,000 points hotel in Portugal. Stay one paid night for $75 and a second night on Points & Cash for $40 and 5,000 points. Complete Accelerate in 2 nights at same hotel for $115 and net 25,000 points. Good deal.

    @LauraPDX – looks like the typical offer for members who have not stayed with IHG. My wife’s account gets that kind of offer nearly every round.

    @Ric. That is an awesome arrangement you have there. Is there any way to search or find a master list of which IHG hotels around the world offer $40 and 5000 points for a CASH and POINTS stay? That would be a great way to save on the usual 10,000 point minimum points requirement. With many thanks for your great posts!

    It has been several years since I have seen a list of IHG hotel reward categories. Quite a bit of work to compile 5,000 hotels.

    Anyone seen a recent list?

    You can search a country and quickly see list of hotels and reward rates.

    Holiday Inn Bratislava, Slovakia is 10K.
    Budapest has a 10,000 points suburban hotel.
    Madrid has four suburban IHG hotels at 10K.

    Turns out that hotel in Lisbon, Portugal is 5,000 points + $50.

    Warsaw Poland has Holiday Inn Warsaw – Jozefow at 5,000 points + $30.

    @Balage – I assume you stay frequently at IHG hotels. That is a lot of tasks and nights, but good bonus opportunities if you don’t need to go out of your way to achieve the stay requirements.
