Eindhoven Airport EIN is the primary airport in the Netherlands for cheap low cost carrier flights around Europe with Ryanair, Transavia and Wizz Airlines. Eindhoven is 100 km from Amsterdam.
AirExpress Bus is the easiest way to travel 100 km between Amsterdam city and Eindhoven Airport on a 1hr 45 min bus trip. The 22.50 EUR ticket price is comparable to buying a train ticket to Eindhoven and a local bus ticket to the airport. TerraVision also operates airport bus transfer shuttles in UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Iceland, Dublin, Prague and Warsaw.
In February 2017, I traveled from Amsterdam to Eindhoven EIN on a dedicated point to point bus journey from Amsterdam Centraal Station to Eindhoven Airport for 22.50 EUR.
The most confusing part of the trip was figuring out if I was in the right place outside Amsterdam Centraal for the bus stop. I forgot to print out a map.
Bus stop is located in front of Gray Line Canal Cruises ticket office about 200 meters from Centraal Station.
A small pullout on the street in front of the Gray Line Canal Cruises ticket office is the bus stop. I did not see any signs for AirExpress Bus on the street.
Standing at the bus stop for 15 minutes gave me time to photograph the area. A few other people arrived with luggage during that time giving a sense of assurance I was standing int he correct place.
Club Carlson hotels Park Plaza Victoria and Amsterdam Art’otel are across the streets toward city center. Amsterdam Centraal Station is about 150-200 meters away. This is a very busy intersection of Amsterdam with cars, buses and trams. The location around Centraal Station has never appealed to me for a hotel stay.
The bus arrived and I failed to take a photo in Amsterdam. I snapped a photo of the bus exterior at Eindhoven Airport.
The drive to Eindhoven was on a freeway across flat polder farm and grazing land for the most part with a few small villages and modern business complexes alongside the road.
Polders are land in the Netherlands reclaimed with dykes and canals.
This seems to be most of the land type outside Amsterdam until traveling some way inland in the country.
The bus pulled into Eindhoven Airport.
I walked into the terminal at 11:05am for my 9:30am departure from Amsterdam. We arrived 10 minutes earlier than scheduled.
Five hours later I was at the airport in Sofia, Bulgaria getting off a RyanAir flight I paid $50.62 for a one way ticket with 15kg checked bag.
