Hilton Honors buy points 80% bonus gives me cheap Iceland hotel stay

Hilton Honors has a purchase points offer for 80% bonus points when you buy 5,000 to 80,000 points by February 17 at $10 per 1,000 points.

Turned out I needed 5,000 points this morning when I came up short for a reward night in Reykjavik, Iceland.

$50 purchased 9,000 Hilton points. I only needed 5,000 for my reward night. I still had to spend $50, but I have an extra 4,000 points left in my account after booking a Points & Money reward night in Iceland.

Reykjavik is expensive. Hilton has two hotels in Reykjavik.

Hilton Reykjavik Nordica = 40,000 points standard reward night or

Points & Money = 16,000 points + 7,407 ISK ($66.44 USD).

Exchange rate $1.00 USD = 111 ISK.

Room rates range from 24,000 to 35,000 ISK per night ($215 to $315 USD per night).

Hilton Nordica Reykjavik

Buying $50 in points reduced my rate to $116.44 USD. I also have a $25 Hilton gift card I can redeem for partial payment.

The first Hilton Canopy brand is in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Canopy by Hilton Reykjavik City Centre  = 60,000 points standard reward night in April and 70,000 points in May. There are some April dates available Points & Money rewards at this hotel for 24,000 points + 11,396 ISK ($102.22).

Hilton Canopy Reykjavik

Room rates are 30,000 to 40,000 ISK ($269-$359) at Canopy Reykjavik.
