Ticket prices in the $300s and $400s on major alliance airlines for LAX and SFO to cities across Europe, Lisbon to Helsinki, are deals not commonly seen in the past year for too many consecutive days. This week’s fare sale reminds me of last June when there were all kinds of rapid-fire flash sale types of deals from around the USA to airports across Europe. This week is similar to that scene.
This is a general fare alert post for readers who may be unaware there are many airfare deals to Europe available this week in the $300s and $400s for travel February to June and September to December, and even some summer destinations and dates from some USA airports.
The amount of discount fare sales is overwhelming for writing up deals. I spent too much time this week watching Senate confirmation hearings of our future Washington D.C. leaders to write up airfare deals all day long. Suffice to say, if you live in or near a major USA airport, then there are likely some of the lowest fares to Europe over the past year available today for 2017 travel.
Google Flights is a good starting point for an indication of low fare dates and places, but then be sure to compare fares to meta-search sites Momondo.com and Skyscanner.com. I have seen ticket prices this week drop by over $200 through OTA sites compared to the airline’s own website ticket prices. But I have also seen lower priced tickets on airline’s sites for some searches I compared to Momondo.com finds.
My focus is the west coast, but there are deals from many airports across the USA like Dallas, Houston, Denver, Miami, Chicago, New York, Boston and Washington.
