IHG Rewards Club has a potential for $100 to $200 in rebates for three hotel nights by February 15 in IHG brands: Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo and InterContinental Hotels.
Loyalty Traveler – IHG-Mastercard Priceless Surprises – Stay twice Dec 1 – Feb 15, 2017 and pay with any MasterCard branded bank card to earn a $50, $75 or $100 MasterCard gift card. The basic rules are you must have two hotel stays with one of those stays for two nights or more. The amount of the gift card is dependent on which IHG hotel brands you stay. You may only earn one MasterCard rebate per member during promotion period.
- InterContinental = $100 MasterCard
- Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Even = $75
- Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites = $50.
- Gift card amount depends on IHG hotel brands you stay in for first two eligible stays during promotion period. If one of your two qualifying stays is an InterContinental Hotel, then you earn $100, regardless of the hotel brand for the other qualifying stay. You are guaranteed at least a $50 rebate with two IHG hotel stays paid with MasterCard.
Many travelers will need three hotel nights in December. Only three weeks left in 2016 and for many infrequent travelers this time of year is when they spend more on hotels than any other season of the year. There are several hotel promotions available this month across most of the major hotel chains. IHG Rewards Club two promotions running simultaneously during December 2016 and continuing to at least Feb 15, 2017. Combined these IHG Rewards Club offers are a potential rebate worth $100 to more than $200 after only 3 hotel nights at IHG brand hotels.
Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites are apartment style hotels with small kitchen and useful lodging for family travel. Christmas and New Year’s season coincides with lack of business traveler demand at these extended stay hotel brands. In many urban hotels and small city hotels December 20 – Dec 30 has some of the lowest rates of the year, particularly for extended stay and business district city hotels.
The high value of this promotion is you only need a one night hotel stay and a two night hotel stay to earn a minimum rebate of $50 and potentially $100. You will also likely earn several thousand IHG Rewards Club points, especially if your stays are January 1 to February 15 when this MasterCard offer stacks with IHG Rewards Club 2017 Accelerate promotion announced yesterday.

IHG Rewards Club Accelerate Sep 6 – Dec 15, 2016 targeted tasks for bonus points.
IHG Rewards Club Accelerate 2017 Jan 1 – April 15, 2017 targeted tasks for bonus points.
The 2017 Accelerate offer was announced Friday Dec 9.
I like my IHG Accelerate 2017 offer for 49,700 bonus points. I should be able to achieve the full bonus with five hotel nights. I will detail my offer in a post on Monday.
The Value of Two IHG Promotions for December stays
I think IHG Rewards Club MasterCard Priceless Surprises is the highest rebate currently available for so few hotel nights. A MasterCard gift card is a real cash rebate. The other aspect of these promotion offers to keep in mind is a new list of IHG PointBreaks hotels will be posted in the last week of January 2017 for hotel reward nights at only 5,000 points per night. IHG Rewards Club members might be able to earn over 5,000 points on top of the MasterCard gift card and those can be redeemed for an IHG Rewards Club PointBreaks hotel reward night for 5,000 points. I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Tehachapi, California last month for my Thanksgiving road trip to Las Vegas and saved over $100 on that hotel night for 5,000 points.
One task common to all the IHG Rewards Club Accelerate 2017 bonus offers is 1,000 bonus points for a hotel stay in January.
My 2017 IHG Accelerate offer allows me to earn over 20,000 points with one hotel night. IHG Pointbreaks Reward Nights have saved me a couple thousand dollars over the past few years. I look forward to seeing the January 2017 PointBreaks list.
