American Airlines and British Airways are having major discount fares to Europe from many cities across the USA this week. One of the low fare deals is American Airlines/Finnair to Helsinki for $399 round trip. Another fare deal are $509 to $514 round trip tickets Seattle to Paris for departures from January 4 to late March.
Seattle is an Icelandair gateway and their ticket prices are as low as $499 to Paris for January to March, and then climb to $600s in April and May. Delta and United are in $600s all winter. This makes American a real deal with more availability than Icelandair and lower fares than SkyTeam and Star Alliance carriers to Paris.

O class earns 25% RDM on Alaska:
https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mileage-plan/how-to-earn-miles/airline-partners/american-airlines.aspx
So 1514 AS miles for SEA-JFK-CDG, 3028 total.
Better than 5×183 for AA (base fare times 5 for regular members).
Alaska has some great advantages over AAdvantage. I have Qantas flights to Sydney and Auckland this week in Economy “O” that earn 100% redeemable miles with Alaska and only 25% with AAdvantage. But I need the AAdvantage EQM or I’ll need another flight for 2,000 EQM before December 31.
How do I buy?
@Karen – links in post are Google Flights. Use fare calendar to find low fare dates. Google flights usually gives direct link to airline website to book ticket from the airline.
