Southwest Airlines launched a 3-day sale today for discount fares October 4-6. The major alliance airlines have their own competitive fares on many of these same routes. Southwest’s sale is for travel Nov 30-Dec 20 and Jan 4-Feb 15. American, Delta and United have low fares starting November 1 going into February or March. There are hundreds of routes on sale and I can’t highlight all the deals. This post looks at fares to 13 cities from Los Angeles where there are competitive fares on the major alliance airlines to the Southwest Airlines fares.
Basically, you can look at Southwest’s sale and then compare the fares on American, Delta and United to see if there is a competitive fare with one of the major airlines. During these kinds of domestic fare sales across the USA I find one of the best resources is AirFareWatchDog.com with its long lists of low fares that can be checked for any departure city. I find AFWD much more useful for locating low fares within the USA compared to their international routes coverage.
