Norwegian has nonstop flights from Boston to London Gatwick LGW with fares as low as $159 one way to London and about $178 USD for the one way flight from London LGW to Boston when booked through the USA website. These fares are available as soon as late October and all dates from early January to late March.
Book through the UK website and the round trip fare for Boston to London Gatwick drops to as low as $311 or $444 USD round trip when you upgrade the ticket to LowFare+ for free checked bag, seat assignment and meals.
The reason I like Norwegian as a low cost carrier is the option to carry 22 lbs. onboard as a carry-on bag and personal item. So if you pack light, gamble on a free seat assignment and bring your own food and drink, then the ticket price can be the total price. Just hope you can move once you board the plane if stuck in the middle seat.
WOW Air which also flies out of Boston has a 5kg limit for all carry-on or pay around $49 for a carry-on bag fee each way. More for a checked bag. You need to add at least $100+ to Wow’s ticket price to get the total price.
Norwegian’s website states carry-on bags maximum weight limit is 10kg/22 lb. for combined weight of all items. My personal small backpack item has never been weighed in combination with my carry-on bag in the dozen or so flights I have made on Norwegian. I don’t travel 22 lb. light.
