There is a little fare war happening in Houston today with United fares in the upper $500s to Barcelona and Madrid and American/British Airways fares to several cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland posted at upper $500s/low $600s for travel October to early December. AA/BA also have Sweden and Denmark on sale in upper $500s and United has Helsinki, Finland on sale.
Update 6:30am Fri Aug 12: A similar fare war is happening in Denver with United fares to Barcelona and Spain in $540s and American fares in $560s to Austria and Germany on sale. Scandinavia and Switzerland are not on sale from Denver.
United Airlines have only Barcelona and Madrid on sale in Spain.
