Philadelphia is a hot bed of low fare activity today with United and Delta attacking American and AA offering lower fares on several routes. Manchester, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin and Zurich are all between $500 to $550 round trip with one, two or all three major alliance airlines. Paris and Munich are in $580s and $590s.
London is also discounted to around $700 round trip for December holiday travel. Bare in mind that many low fare United flights include Amtrak train Philadelphia to Newark for flights departing EWR-Europe or fly Air Canada via Toronto or Montreal.
Here is a run down of low fares I see at 2:30pm Pacific time. Google Flights fare links to the route and dates are embedded.
Manchester, UK $500 – $536
American Airlines $535.86 – $578 (Oct 3-28) Most dates around $536. American’s advantage is nonstop flights. United has far more dates
American Airlines Philadelphia PHL – MAN Manchester, UK nonstop flights
Delta Airlines offers little competition on this route with low fares of $551 to $576, but only on 12 dates between Oct 3-29.
United has most availability for PHL-MAN route.
United Airlines $499.96 – $586 Oct 20 – Dec 15. United has far more low fare dates than American or Delta with departures into December. There are two dates with $500 (Dec 11) and $506 (Oct 23) fares. Cheapest flights require Amtrak Philadelphia to Newark all flights United tickets tend to be $570 tickets.

Philadelphia to London $719 – $723 Nov 1 – March 31 AA/DL/UA December Holiday Fares same price
I admit that I am not all too familiar with normal holiday December fares for Philadelphia to London, but $723 seems like a reasonably low fare for Christmas/New Year’s travel to Europe from anywhere in the USA. 2016 is certainly not a normal year for airfare. Deals abound in 2016. It has been Christmas all year for airfare deals.
Anyway, I would not write about a $720 fare from east coast to London, except this one is good for Christmas week travel with AA, DL and UA.
