Washington, Chicago, New York and Miami have been loaded with low fare deals this past month. Icelandair (FI) has $444 to Paris with an option for free stopover in Iceland. KLM will fly you to Amsterdam nonstop for $507 round trip. United will fly you nonstop to Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt and Zurich in the low to mid $500s. American and Delta have competitive prices to United and each other for all these cities, including Manchester, seemingly the new low fare airport for flights to the UK based on all the deals there this past month. Munich is also in the $500s, but only for trips after Oktoberfest beer season. You know though, they sell cheap beer in Germany all year round.
Paris
Icelandair has the lowest fares to Paris in the $440s round trip for a few September and October departures. Amazing they have any seats left after a month of discounts from across the USA. They fly out of Washington Dulles to Reykjavik KEF and then to many European mainland destinations and the UK. You can book a stopover flight online through their website for a stay in Reykjavik on either outbound or inbound. Seat and two checked bags and carry-on are free too. They are often a far cheaper option than Norwegian and WOW, low cost airlines which charge for seats and checked bags and Icelandair fares tend to be lower than the major alliance airlines.
Departures: September and October have a few dates in the $400s for trips from 4 days or longer.
