Southwest started this sale Monday night. Many markets are on sale for September through mid-December. Sale ends Thursday night. This 3-day sale in early June is an annual event for Southwest.
Incidentally, if you buy from Southwest you won’t face fees if you need to cancel the trip. Funds are 100% resuable for travel up to one year from the time of initial purchase.
Southwest does have the advantage for Bay Area flyers who prefer San Jose for $49. There are no matching fares from American and United for SJC-LAX route.
I’ll probably book that SJC ticket today for my flight home to Monterey from Salzburg, Austria to LAX in September.
Unfortunately for me, I have never lived near an airport with Southwest Airlines, so I rarely fly them.
