Fare War Star Alliance/Oneworld Germany to Chicago $400 round trip June-Nov

Update: This fare war now involves Skyteam, Oneworld and Star Alliance airlines.

Fare War Alert: United Airlines dropped round trip fare from Germany to Chicago as low as $400 for Berlin to Chicago and fares in the $400s from several German airports. This seems to be a response to Air Berlin $165 one-way fares from Germany to Chicago today. The United/Star Alliance ticket is an even better deal on some dates, but Air Berlin and British Airways are competing with lower round trip fares in the $400s from Germany to Chicago than available a few hours ago.

Departure Dates: Low fare dates in summer months June and July, and many more low fare dates beginning late August to November.

Since this fare may disappear at any moment, I’ll post one comparison from United and AirBerlin, and add more information to this article in updates, until I get to the Monterey reggae festival in a couple of hours..
