UA $318 AA $355 SFO Cancun, Mexico June-July

United Airlines has lower round trip fares at $318 for San Francisco SFO to Cancun, Mexico than American Airlines lowest fare at $355 round trip. These low fares are only for departures in June and July. One thing to know about United is most fares in the $330s round trip have a long layover from 7 to 12+ hours at Denver DEN or Houston IAD and some are overnight layovers. The same deal applies to American Airlines tickets, except mostly worse schedules. The lowest fares involve flights with 11 to 14 hour layovers, mostly overnight in either DFW or PHX. There are nonstop flights in July on United for $375 round trip.

This is a fare that is better to search in Google Flights one-way mode. There are also low one fares with Delta, Aeromexico and Spirit on some dates.

One of the few low fare dates on AA without a long layover is a flight on July 4 SFO-CUN.
