Norwegian Airlines (airline code DY) has opened up London to far lower ticket prices in 2016 with nonstop flights to London Gatwick Airport LGW from several USA airports including Los Angeles LAX, Oakland OAK, Las Vegas LAS, Boston BOS, New York JFK, Fort Lauderdale FLL and Orlando MCO.
Boston and Oakland launched service to London LGW this month. Las Vegas is scheduled to begin service October 31, the same date seasonal service to London ends for Oakland.
Boston BOS – London LGW 10:20pm – 8:25am nonstop 4x weekly Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday service 6 hr. 15 min. flight time.
London LGW – Boston BOS 4:50pm – 8:20pm nonstop 4x weekly Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday service 7hr. 30 min. flight time.

A round trip from Scandinavia to the USA is sufficient to get home to the USA in July on a major airline at the same cost as a Norwegian Airlines one-way ticket. Plus you have the next one way back to Europe in hand for your next adventure.

Las Vegas to London Gatwick
Norwegian’s Las Vegas service to London is more exciting for me. There are usually many more options for cheap flights to Europe from the east coast. Not so much from the western USA. Las Vegas is connected to my home airport Monterey, California MRY by low cost carrier Allegiant Airlines.
Las Vegas begins London Gatwick service October 31, 2016, the day after seasonal service ceases for LGW from OAK SF/Oakland, California.
Las Vegas flights are 2x weekly, Monday and Thursday.
- LAS – LGW 6:00pm – 10:50am for 9hr 50min flight.
- LGW – LAS 12:10pm – 3:00pm for 10hr 50min flight on Dreamliner 787.
