United Monterey to Paris $666 Nov-March 2017; UA deals many California regional airports to Europe

United Airlines have low fare tickets in the mid-$600s for a variety of cities in Europe like Monterey to Paris for $666 round trip and near identical fares from most California regional airports like Monterey MRY, Arcata ACV, Sacramento SMF, Fresno FAT, Orange County SNA, San Luis Obispo SBP and others places serviced by United Express. Departure dates from November 2016 to March 2017.

This has been one of the few days in the past year where there has been a day of low fares from a variety of airports across the USA to a variety of airports all over Europe. This is primarily a fare war between Delta and United. I have not seen any American/Oneworld low fares for these Europe routes.

The significance of an airport like Monterey MRY, California on sale with United at $666 round trip for Paris is this deal signals low fares are an even better deal for Europe, if you live in a participating regional airport around California.

For example, the fare to Paris from San Francisco is about $613 round trip. Airfare from Monterey MRY is usually at least $200 more and often $500 more than San Francisco or Los Angeles for a ticket to Europe. This sale today offers Monterey via San Francisco or Los Angeles to Paris for $666, only about $50 more than flying out of San Francisco. I can’t park a car, rent a car or pay for a round trip shuttle ride at that low price for the convenience of flying out of Monterey.
