Hilton HHonors has a members only Big World Sale or Summer Sale for up to 25% and 30% off room rates at participating properties worldwide. These are advance purchase, prepaid and nonrefundable rates.
The summer sale end date is from August 23 to September 5, 2016, depending on hotel. Stay dates are May 14 – December 31, 2016.
- Americas Region Hotels: Arrivals for Thursday to Sunday only and must book at least 4 days before arrival.
- Europe, Middle East and Africa Hotels: Weekends only. Must book at least 3 days in advance of arrival.
- Asia Pacific Hotels: Must book 3 days prior to arrival.
- China Hotels: Must book 2 days before arrival.
Whether it is called the Big World Sale or Summer Sale depends on which advertising page you see. Different regions have different terms and conditions, which were rather difficult for me to locate among the many sale pages.
The real discounts are hard for me to assess since all the places I needed hotels this summer and already researched Hilton HHonors hotel rates were for weeknight stays and this sale in Europe is only weekends.
I’m sure there are some deals to be found, if you are comfortable with advance purchase nonrefundable rates. I generally avoid nonrefundable rates unless it is for a stay within the same week or I find an incredible discount.
