Qatar Air $723 LAX to Colombo, Sri Lanka CMB

Qatar Airways has a low fare at $723 round trip from Los Angeles LAX to Colombo, Sri Lanka CMB via Doha. This ticket allows one free stopover in Doha and a second stopover for $100 if you want to break up the trip. Besides as a trip to visit Sri Lanka, there are two other reasons for a trip to Colombo. Firstly are low ticket prices from CMB to places around the world. Colombo CMB is one of the airports for buying low priced round the world tickets and business class fares. The other reason is for cheap flights to the Maldives.

Last week I wrote about Cathay Pacific’s $890 round trip fare from Los Angeles to the Maldives via Hong Kong. The advantage of flying Qatar to Colombo is the option to break up the south Asia trip with a free stopover in Doha and a stop in Colombo, then fly China Eastern Colombo to Male MLE for $125 round trip to the Maldives.
