The value of Hilton HHonors points depends on where you travel and the price of hotel rooms and the price of hotel reward nights for your dates of travel.
$5 per 1,000 points is a good deal for many places. I do not focus on beach resort travel for my trips. Three days ago I wrote an analysis of the high value of Hilton HHonors points in several places around Poland.

The comments to my post about the 5,000 points Hampton Inn elicited several responses regarding the good quality Hilton Garden Inn in Krakow. That hotel is 20,000 points per night in July. Five nights for $500 in today’s offer through Daily Getaways for 100,000 points.
