Too broke to book Starwood Aloft Gap Year 40% off second night rate

Starwood Hotels Aloft brand has a rate discount promotion alofthotels.com/gapyear offering 40% off every second night at an Aloft Hotel. This means a 20% discount on the total rate for a 2-night stay, which should be slightly better than AAA discounts at most hotels.

Aloft Gap Year webpage is Broke

I planned an analysis of the Aloft Gap Year 40% off second night rates, however, the Aloft Gap Year webpage is broken and does not work for booking hotels. I can’t find this discount rate on SPG.com hotel rate searches.

Hey Starwood Hotels – Mind the Gap

After more than ten years studying hotel marketing as a consumer travel analyst, I find the Aloft Hotels marketing campaign interesting and kind of a stretch. Aloft Hotels has a national promotion for Gap Year travel centered around author Andrea Wien’s Ultimate Gap Year Tour of USA Aloft Hotels in April. Her book Gap to Great: A Parent’s Guide to the Gap Year will be the focus of the Aloft Hotels book tour running through April 2016.

It is an interesting concept to ship your household adult child off to Aloft Hotels to gain cultural experiences. As if college tuition bills are not enough child support.

My gap year took me around the USA and Hawaii with my thumb and a backpacking tent.

Looks like I will have to wait for Aloft Hotels to fix what is broke in their Gap Year promotional rate webpage to complete a rate analysis.
