United Airlines applies for Havana flight routes to begin August 2016

United Airlines has an online campaign in support their application for commercial flight service between four U.S. airports and Havana, Cuba. The airports are Houston IAH, Chicago ORD, New Jersey/New York EWR and Washington Dulles IAD. The application states United would like to start Havana HAV Cuba service on August 15, 2016 or within 90 days of DOT final approval.

Proposed routes for daily flights from Newark EWR and Saturday-only flights from Chicago ORD, Houston IAH and Washington DC Dulles IAD.

  • Year-round daily round-trip service between Newark/New York City and Havana with additional Saturday-only service, utilizing 1.1 daily frequencies (or the equivalent of eight weekly frequencies). 
  • Year-round Saturday-only round-trip service between each of Houston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, and Havana, utilizing individually 0.1 daily frequencies and collectively 0.3 daily frequencies (or the equivalent of three weekly frequencies).
