IHG PointBreaks Jan 25-April 30 Hotel List

IHG PointBreaks hotel list preview is now available to see on the IHG Rewards Club blog for hotel stays January 25 to April 30, 3016. These are hotels available for 5,000 points per night. The PointBreaks award rates should be loaded sometime in the next 24 hours for these hotels.

I have been anxiously anticipating the new list. In April I have a flight to Amsterdam and my plan was to pick the best IHG hotel on the PointBreaks list in Europe and go there for a week. The new list of European hotels is underwhelming to me. There are 24 hotels in Europe and there are no InterContinental Hotels on the list anywhere in the world.

I’ll check out these hotels in Europe and see if one works out with low airfares for my travel dates. Perhaps I’ll be blogging from Vilnius, Lithuania or Naples, Italy in April?

    FWIW – I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn. Solid hotel though a bit outside of the city center, but it’s certainly walkable if not too cold out. I’ve also been to Vilnius and quite enjoyed my time there. You can walk to the old town and other sites from that Crowne Plaza.

    Oh, the Townsville one in Australia would be a great deal if you had a ticket booked or could get off quickly and book one. The Holiday Inn in Dusseldorf is very close to the train station so it would be easy to wander around a bit of Germany and see Dusseldorf. I hear good things about Ghent, but don’t know if the Holiday Inn there would be in a great location. I do wish I could get off work and try to make the Australian one work.

    What’s wrong with using Naples as a base to explore the Amalfi? One of most beautiful spots in the world………a lot of good day trips from there……….

    Ghent is the location my wife favors and easiest to access from Amsterdam.

    Dusseldorf is sold out during the dates I need.

    Vilnius seems like the best hotel and city center location.

    Naples is certainly a possibility, but I have not explored that option yet..
