Next week I have my first stay in tackling the tasks for my IHG Rewards Club Accelerate 2016 promotion. I will receive 12,300 bonus points for a one night stay in the Netherlands on a $40 Holiday Inn rate. Another four hotel nights with IHG by April 30, 2016 will earn 50,000 total points with my offer.

Accelerate 2015 Update: Points Posted (after my phone call)

I booked two one night stays at Holiday Inn hotels in London Thanksgiving week to complete my third Accelerate 2015 task for three Points & Cash stays.

Then I waited and waited for my task board to update after the Points & Cash stays and credit the 33,100 Accelerate 2015 Achievement Bonus Points.After eight weeks I finally called IHG Rewards Club two days ago. Twenty minutes later my account balance grew by 36,700 points.

My phone call to IHG Rewards Club resulted in task credit and 3,600 bonus points for 3 Points & Cash stays during the 2015 Accelerate promotion and 33,100 points for Achievement Bonus.

The new set of IHG PointBreaks hotels at 5,000 points per reward night should be announced in the next few days. I have a flight to Amsterdam in April and cheap PointBreaks reward nights will have me looking for any good hotel location in Europe to spend a week on the cheap.

    It took me 4 emails 5 calls and one chat to finally receive my accelerate point from a mid-November task being completed.

    I was on hold for about 15 minutes and the IHG customer service rep came on once to tell me it would be longer and keep holding. I hung up. Points posted soon after.

    @Horace – In this case I wanted to see if IHG would process the stays without my intervention. I finally decided they would not. The phone call worked well.

    Now if I had followed your advice on Dec 14, then I might have avoided booking a fourth IHG Points and Cash stay in December.
