Air France Vancouver YVR to Paris CDG $478 USD round trip

One of the low fare strategies for US residents to keep in mind is fares to Europe can be significantly lower flying from Canada. So much lower that you can save several hundred dollars, even after you pay $250 for a round trip ticket from a U.S. airport to an airport in Canada.

Air France fares for Vancouver to Paris are under $500 for departure dates in February and March with $550 to $600 low fares for departure dates into mid-June.

Fly Los Angeles to Vancouver and save $600 USD on Air France round trip airfare to Paris.

LAX-CDG Air France Mar16 $1,085

$1,085 to fly Air France Los Angeles to Paris nonstop in economy class is $600 more than the Air France ticket flying Vancouver to Paris. The LAX fare is the same $1,085, regardless of departure date Friday to Sunday March 4-6.

There is a lower $667 round trip fare LAX-CDG with Aeroflot departing Saturday, March 5. That itinerary forces an overnight in Moscow on the outbound flights. Many flyers probably view Vancouver as the more desirable stopover city.

Air Canada Los Angeles LAX – Vancouver YVR

$243.64  Saturday March 5 – Tuesday March 15

Air Canada has lowest priced nonstop flights LAX-YVR at $244 round trip.

A separate ticket for Los Angeles to Vancouver is an itinerary I view for an opportunity to add nights in Vancouver on the same trip before and/or after flying to Paris. Round trip tickets LAX-YVR are as low as $211 round trip on some dates, but return portion of $211 fare is a one-stop via Calgary, Alberta. You should be able to schedule flights on some dates while avoiding an overnight in Vancouver with little increase in total fare .

Traditional Ticketing: $1,085 Air France  Los Angeles – Paris CDG nonstop flights

Creative Ticketing: $721.06  Los Angeles to Paris via Vancouver

  • $244.64   Air Canada LAX – Vancouver round trip nonstops
  • $477.42   Air France Vancouver YVR – Paris CDG round trip nonstops

That $360 ticket savings will cover some of your travel expenses for three nights in Vancouver, Canada.

  1. @Stephan – I had a great time in Vancouver and driving around Vancouver Island last April. The hotels were a bargain. At the current exchange rate, even beer prices are affordable.

@Dan – Toronto is definitely an airport to consider for lower fares if you are in midwest and eastern US.
