Loyalty Traveler Analysis

Marriott MegaBonus moves up to the top of my list for high value promotions this season. Marriott Rewards category 5 hotel certificates are not nearly as valuable in 2016 as they were in 2013, but still a good value for thousands of hotels worldwide. This is a promotion where two low cost stays potentially earn a free night certificate of similar value.

Want to point out the double registration needed for some of us. I received the offer like B. You register for the promotion. Then you need to go into your account’s promo page and register again (blue button) for the free night promo.

I had missed this the first time and only noticed it after reading your post. After clicking the register button the second time, your account should show two promotions that you’ve registered for.

I noticed there were complaints on FlyerTalk about the IT for this promotion. I saw discussion of members having two separate offers to register for with this MegaBonus.

    I only had one offer.

Thanks for explaining the two offer situation.

I had to call Marriott and over the phone received a downgraded version of offer #3. After 20 nights they give 15,000 points, then after five more nights receive 5,000 more points, for a grand total of 20,000 points after 25 nights.

I’m pretty disappointed with this offer. Last quarter I received 45,000 bonus points for staying 30 nights, in contrast. I may stay 25 nights with Marriott this quarter, but more likely just 20 nights. I will prioritize promotions at other hotels chains during this period, racking up 3,000 AA miles for each stay at Wyndham (until February 29), and bonus points at hotels like Hilton (thanks to my newly minted Hilton Diamond status).
