United Airlines SFO to Dublin $705

United Airlines has dropped fares from San Francisco to Dublin down to $705 to $722 for departures from next Monday into March 2016. Lowest fare tends to be itineraries flying United outbound and Air Canada return.

Turkish Airlines has fares to Dublin as low as $610 round trip via one-stop Istanbul connections. Air Canada has had some low fares lately around $600 round trip via one-stops and sometimes two-stops in Canada. No other airlines outside of Star Alliance have lower fares to Dublin at the time of this post. That may change in the next day or two if another airline decides to compete for Dublin passengers.

I do not consider United’s $720 to be a particularly low fare for this route, but I do see this fare as an indicator that more low fares are starting to appear for LAX/SFO to Europe routes.

I expect LAX/SFO to Dublin could drop to under $600 round trip for winter travel if this sale is picked up by other airlines and competition on the route heats up. United Airlines and Star Alliance, up to this point, have focused their discount routes on southeastern Europe with Athens, Sofia, Bucharest and Belgrade in the $700s for the past few months. Scandinavian airports like Copenhagen CPH, Stockholm ARN, Gothenburg GOT, Billund BLL DK offering fares in the $600s for round trip flights most of the past year.

Hopefully this is a sign that more Star Alliance low fares will pop up for winter and early spring travel to Europe.

Yep, this deal is a dud.

Last year, same time frame, I remember paying $430 RT on Delta, Fuel prices are way down…shouldn’t we see some REAL bargains soon?

My wife and I purchased tickets SFO to Dublin last year with KLM for $448 round trip on January 5 for February travel. Dublin was a major low fare airport for US travelers in 2015, but not so low past few months.

I am flying to Amsterdam on Norwegian Oakland OAK – AMS for $211 next week.
