LAX or SFO to Dubai $660 SkyTeam and Star Alliance

There are low fares from California to Dubai this month. LAX and SFO have been priced under $700 round trip with several airlines for many dates from January through May 2016. I have written about low fares from California to Dubai DXB a couple of times this month with Star Alliance fares in the low $600s for ticket purchases at the beginning of December and low Skyteam fares in mid-$600s two weeks ago.

While Dubai may or may not be on top of your list as a travel destination, another consideration for this low fare to Dubai is its positioning flight opportunities for low fares to Africa, India, Seychelles and Maldives. You can combine a Dubai flight with a day or several days stopover and pick up another flight to somewhere else around the Indian Ocean for about the same price as a single economy class ticket from California to Africa, Seychelles or Maldives with no stopovers allowed.

Dubai to MLE, Male Maldives is as low as $346 round trip on SpiceJet in February or $424 on Qatar Airways in May 2016. Dubai to Dar Es Salaam DAR, Tanzania is $350 round trip on Qatar Airways in May 2016.

Flights from Los Angeles or San Francisco to Dubai at $660 to $710 round trip are available for many dates from January to May 2016. Some dates have lowest fares with Star Alliance carriers like Air Canada, United, Swiss and Lufthansa. Some dates have lowest fares with SkyTeam carriers like Delta, Air France and KLM.
