Wyndham Rewards 3,000 AA bonus miles per stay Dec 1-Feb 29, up to 15,000 miles

Wyndham Rewards 3,000 American Airlines AAdvantage bonus miles per stay is a good deal for stays from December 1 to February 29, 2016. This bonus can be earned up to 5 times for 15,000 bonus miles, in addition to the normal earn rate of 2 miles per $1 or 500 miles per stay for Wyndham, Tryp and Hawthorn Suites brands.

The miles are not quite worth enough to make a cheap mattress run in my opinion, unless you can really benefit from a few thousand miles with really low fares of $50 per night or less.

I see this promotion as a better opportunity when booking Wyndham, Dolce, Tryp and Hawthorn Suites hotels with a nice 3,500 AAdvantage miles rebate giving a $50 or so rebate value on hotel stays. Baymont, Ramada, Wingate or Microtel rooms at about $60 to $90 with 3,100 to 3,200 AA miles makes a real hotel bargain. That is a real deal on a one-night highway hotel stay where a quick bed is the desired objective.

*The 2015-16 “AAdvantage Miles Winter Promotion” (the “Promotion”) begins on December 1, 2015 and ends on February 29, 2016 (the “Registration Period”). To qualify for the Promotion and earn 3,000 miles per qualified stay a Member must (i) choose to earn with American Airlines AAdvantage® miles in their member profile, (ii) register for the Promotion above or by calling 1-866-996-7937 during the Registration Period, (iii) book at least 1 Qualified Stay, at a participating hotel, with arrival dates between December 1, 2015 and February 29, 2016 (the “Promotion Period”), and (iv) complete the Qualified Stay by March 7, 2016 (the period beginning on December 1, 2015 and ending on February 29, 2016 hereinafter referred to as the “Promotion Period”). A Member may earn up to 12,000 additional AAdvantage bonus miles by (i) booking additional Qualified Stays, at a participating hotel at a Qualifying Rate, with arrival dates within the Promotion Period and (ii) completing the additional Qualified Stays by March 7, 2016. Members will earn 15,000 miles starting with their first Qualified Stay, as described above, for up to five (5) separate Qualified Stays with a maximum of 3 rooms per stay. Each Qualified Stay includes all consecutive nights at the same participating hotel, regardless of check-ins or check-outs. Member stays with check-out dates after March 7, 2016 will not be counted towards the Promotion. Rates offered by most on-line travel agencies and certain other rates do not qualify.

LT note: the 3 rooms per stay is a standard Wyndham Rewards promotion term. You can earn points or miles for up to 3 rooms per stay, however, three rooms still only counts as one stay. You will receive 3,000 bonus AAdvantage miles for the one stay and for the money spent on the three rooms you earn 2 miles per $1 or 500 miles for the one stay, depending on hotel brand.

  1. For most programs yes, but for Wyndham oddly enough it used to work this way. Haven’t tried anytime recently. I will have to do some more investigating here!
