WOW Air announced new service between Bristol UK and Iceland in May 2016. I received an email today announcing low $149 USD fares from Boston BOS and Baltimore BWI to BRS Bristol, UK.

I am in London today. Researching WOW Air fares for this route revealed something very interesting.

In short, using my email link for US prices shows me a one-way fare from the USA to Bristol for $149 USD. WOW Air UK website shows me Bristol to Boston ticket is 108 GBP ($163 USD). But if I want to buy a one way ticket for Bristol to Boston from the WOW USA website on the same date, it will cost $256 USD.

A round trip ticket Bristol to Boston from the WOW Air UK site or round trip Boston to Bristol from the WOW Air USA site is priced about $80 to $93 USD more than buying a one-way BOS-BRS from the USA site and a one-way BRS-BOS ticket from the WOW Air UK site.

As I sit here in London I can buy two one-way tickets for BOS-BRS and BRS-BOS for $312 round trip. What is interesting is what happens when booking a round trip ticket from either the US or UK website.

WOW Air has some low fare $149 USD flights from Boston or Baltimore to Bristol, UK in May 2016. WOW Air has some low priced flights from Bristol to Boston and Baltimore for 99 GBP in May 2016. But round trip flights purchased from the UK site or the USA site will cost $80 to $93 more.

    There is an opportunity for hidden-city ticketing by getting off at KEF. The standard BOS-KEF flight is $100 more than BOS-KEF-BRS.

    @Edster – Remember WOW allows only one piece carry-on baggage and you will have to pay $38 per segment for a maximum 26 lb. for both BOS-KEF and KEF-BRS segments. So add $76 to ticket price one-way, even if you get off in Iceland. Unless you can get by with 5kg/11lb free carry-on bag.
