Lufthansa $838 LAX or SFO to Cape Town South Africa; Delta $855

Lufthansa Airlines brings back the low $838 fare from ten days ago for Los Angeles or San Francisco to Cape Town, South Africa. This fare is offered for departures from late October to early December 2015.

Delta with KLM/Air France have an $855 low fare.

Google Flights shows $823 fares, however, the lowest fare I found on the Lufthansa website was $838. Some of the $823 fares shown on Google Flights priced at over $1,200 on Lufthansa.

  1. Ouch! 23K miles sitting in economy. I’m hurting just thinking about it. Great for marathon, er, mileage runners, but only if your fit and healthy to withstand the distance. Happy travels. The money you save can be used for the follow-on medical care for thrombosis.

  2. Not even for Mileage Runners since it’s a K-fare, as noted no mileage earned in any other STAR program and just 25% in M&M. If BA matches, then its O-fare would earn 100% in AA’s program (plus any elite RDM bonuses) so could be worth the pain.
