American Airlines has offered Los Angeles to Sao Paulo on sale for most of the year and $689 is certainly not the best deal we have seen with fares dropping into the $400s back in May.

The reason I am posting this fare again is the widespread availability of the fare on nearly every date in October and November, combined with the long distance for this route at 12,312 flight miles round trip for nonstop flights LAX-GRU-LAX. This is a good route if you need additional miles to reach AAdvantage Platinum or Executive Platinum elite status qualification.
You can even plan for a destination beyond Sao Paulo, like Iguassu Falls IGU for a few dollars more at $697 round trip.
