Grand Bohemian Charleston Hotel in South Carolina has opened as the newest Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. The property is a Kessler Collection hotel from Richard Kessler, a boutique hotel developer from Savannah, Georgia. His Kessler Collection hotels formed the original core of Marriott Autograph Collection hotel brand when it launched five years ago. Autograph Collection now consists of 89 hotels around the world and the brand is expected to have 100 hotels open by the end of 2015. Ten of eleven hotels in the Kessler Collection are part of Autograph Collection. Beaver Creek Lodge in Colorado is the Kessler Collection holdout from Marriott.
Grand Bohemian Charleston is a 50-room luxury boutique hotel in the historic district of Charleston. Kessler hotels tend to be over the top in décor with large chandeliers, numerous works of art and lots of color. I enjoy the décor of Kessler Collection hotels. There is always something interesting to look at while wandering around the hotel.
The property at 55 Wentworth Street on the corner of Meeting Street is centrally located for Charleston tourism. The hotel enters at the top of the Marriott Rewards chart as a category 9 hotel reward at 45,000 points per night.

Currently rates start around $500 per night after tax for stays in September and October. Room rates drop to about $350 per night for Thanksgiving.
