American Airlines has a very low $236 round trip fare for San Francisco to Bogota, Colombia. Routing via Miami and DFW earns about 8,000 flight miles as redeemable miles.

American Airlines SFO-BOG fares from $228 to $248 are available every month into July 2016. Many of the lowest fare itineraries seem to require a full day in Dallas DFW on the return.
This weekend I watched a TV show about high quality gemstone emeralds from Colombia. Bogota is an emerald trading center among many of its other trades.
