I call the Hilton Getaways 72-hour flash sale launched today for U.S. hotels a real deal since the discount is 15% off the Best Flexible Rate and offers flexible cancellation too. Hilton sales generally require nonrefundable prepayment for hotel stays.
The limitations of this Hilton flash sale are its limited dates for discount hotel stays. The sale only applies to hotel stays August 10-12 (Monday- Wednesday – need a hotel tonight?), August 20-23 (Thursday-Sunday) and August 27-30 (Thursday-Sunday).
This is not a remarkable hotel rate discount sale by any means.
This is a real deal sale for Hilton HHonors loyalists who can book a discount room for slightly less than Advance Purchase nonrefundable rates at most hotels during these August dates.
This 15% Flash Sale discount rate is lower than AAA rates for hotels I checked. The real benefit of this Flash Sale is the benefit of day before arrival flexible cancellation on a room reservation that is priced lower than you would probably otherwise find through Hilton channels.
