Four Seasons ended its management contract with the Carmelo Resort & Spa on March 31, 2015 and now the property has rebranded as a Hyatt Resort & Spa in Uruguay beside the Rio de le Plata, two hours ferry ride from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The hotel is a small intimate resort with only 20 bungalows and 24 bi-level suites. The property features a golf course, winery estate, horseback riding and polo, boating and fishing excursions and some very large rooms. The standard bungalow rooms are 970 square feet with a private garden patio.

The suites are 1,291 square feet with 18-ft. ceilings. The Hyatt hotel website does not offer any photos of the suites.
Carmelo Resort & Spa enters as a Hyatt Gold Passport category 5 reward night at 20,000 points. Room rates in July off-season are in the $220 to $260 USD range.
I stayed at the Sheraton Colonia in June 2007 about 50 miles west of the new Hyatt Carmelo. I enjoyed the country living in Uruguay compared to the big city street life of Buenos Aires. This looks like a nice addition to Hyatt.
