American Airlines has a low fare from Los Angeles to Atlanta for $197 to $207 round trip beginning in September for many dates into December 2015. Then, from early January into April 2016, every date is $207 round trip.
This looks to be a challenge to Frontier Airlines low fares for the route. On a side note, I flew Frontier Denver to San Francisco on a new A319 with seats that did not recline and a tiny metal tray table. Sure felt cramped to me.

I am thinking about flying to Atlanta in late September for another drive into Great Smoky Mountains National Park for the fall leaf colors. Yesterday morning, I watched the theater movie at Great Smoky National Park visitor center and the fall colors looked enticing. The Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce representative told me tourism rivals summer when crowds come to see the leaves.
Also, it has been over 20 years since I was last in Atlanta. Unfortunately, this route is priced around $330 from the SF Bay Area.
