The summer hotel loyalty promotions are out today, June 1 for Club Carlson, Hyatt and Starwood. The Club Carlson Rewarding Summer promotion for Country Inn & Suites looks to be a good value offer with 5,000 bonus points for a two-night stay and another 5,000 bonus points for booking your reservation online through a Carlson Rezidor website or the Club Carlson mobile app.
Registration is required at countryinns/rewardingsummer.
Terms and Conditions:
The Country Inns & Suites By Carlson Summer Offer (“Promotion”) is valid for 5,000 bonus Gold Points® for each Eligible Stay of two or more nights between June 1, 2015 and September 7, 2015. You must be a Club Carlson member, register for the Promotion on countryinns.com/rewardingsummer, and provide your Club Carlson member number at the time of reservation or at check-in. If you make your reservation on a Carlson Rezidor website or mobile application you will earn an additional 5,000 bonus Gold Points. The Promotion is not available for stays or nights paid for by redeeming Gold Points or by using Points + Cash, or for the Zach Johnson Rate.
Club Carlson sells 10,000 points for $70. Now that the Club Carlson Visa free night benefit is gone, some hotels will provide about $7 per 1,000 points redemption value, but more realistic is around $4 per 1,000 points. In the Country Inn portfolio you might find $6.00 per 1,000 points near the high end of redemption value.
Probably my best opportunity to take advantage of this offer is during the next week.
Here is an example of the promotion value from Columbia, South Carolina.
$196 room rate earns 3,920 points + 10,000 bonus points for 13,920 points earned.
For a Club Carlson Visa member with Gold elite status, this booking earns another 1,372 points for Gold elite member + 2,195 points for Club Carlson Visa payment for a total 17,487 points.
The redemption value for these points will likely be in the range of $70 to $105 saved on a future reservation. This particular hotel is 28,000 points for a free night.
Some other Club Carlson hotels at 15,000 points per night will likely buy a $100 room.
Bottom line – this is a good bonus points offer for 2-night hotel stays this summer in a midscale market hotel in the USA.
