Copa Airlines looks like it is challenging the super low American Airlines $457 LAX-GRU Sao Paulo fare posted yesterday. Amazingly the AA low fare is still around 24 hours later.
Copa has fares in the mid-$500s for several airports in Brazil for travel in first week of June or from mid August to mid December. There is also a $712 fare to Buenos Aires, Argentina flying Copa to Sao Paulo and TAM from Sao Paulo GRU to Buenos Aires.
You could travel to Sao Paulo on American Airlines for $434 from LAX and buy a $272 round trip ticket from GRU to EZE Buenos Aires, but you might get hit with two visa fees of $160 for both Brazil and Argentina if you do not already have them and want to leave the airport in Sao Paulo.
Priceline ticket $718.43 Copa and TAM.
