United Airlines has Tokyo NRT on sale for $671 round trip from most American Airlines and US Airways hubs like Miami MIA, Charlotte CLT, Philadelphia PHL, Phoenix PHX, Dallas DFW, and St. Louis STL.
United has Chicago at $756 and New York low fare is Delta at $761. Delta offers fares at $771 from several of these airports.
Low fare is available for Monday to Thursday departures with one day advance purchase on most dates from this week until mid-June and then again from mid-August to March 2016. The only dates that appear higher are December 25-January 4. This is an airfare sale with wide open availability.
Here are three itineraries all using the same dates December 23 to January 7. There are two points illustrated by these fares.
1. United Airlines has the same low fare from all the airports participating in this sale at American Airlines hubs.
2. This fare is available for a large number of dates. The availability of a discount fare departing from the USA during the Christmas-New Year’s holiday is a rare event.
I’ll make a prediction that you will have a difficult time finding another international discount fare during the Christmas-New Year’s holiday period.
