Delta has some low fares to Asia from California. When was the last time there was an international fare deal from SMF Sacramento and San Jose SJC?
Delta prices as low as $389 from San Jose SJC to Kuala Lumpur KUL for November 2015. There are low dates in October and December and some dates about $100 more in October 2015. Other dates and other airport departures in California may also have this low fare.
Delta placed Jakarta, Indonesia on sale for $380 last night and that is still available from LAX, SJC, SNA and SMF. These economy V class fares are limited dates, but very low price.
Update 9:50am California time. Appears these deals are gone. Delta prices are over $600 now for dates that priced at $380 all in 30 minutes ago.
I’ll be looking for other low Asia fares today from California. Please leave a comment if you see fares around $400 from other airports in the USA to Asia.
I found these flights on Google Flights and bookable on Delta.
My initial searches indicate onward flights are less expensive from Kuala Lumpur than Jakarta. For example, you can fly round trip to DPS Denpasar, the airport for Bali, Indonesia for under $150 round trip from KUL Kuala Lumpur. Jakarta looks more expensive at about $250 to fly to DPS round trip.
Low cost carriers will take you around Asia. Getting a flight to Australia is likely cheaper with this fare than flying direct from the USA. My quick check shows flights from Kuala Lumpur KUL to Darwin Australia are under $400. This is a way to travel to Australia for under $800.
