Los Angeles LAX and San Francisco SFO to DEL New Delhi, India $812 China Southern Airlines is a good fare for traveling to the other side of the globe. Airfare to DEL and BOM has been as low as SFO-DEL $759 on Air China last week. Lowest fares are in fall months October and November. There are some dates in April and May with fares around $900 and under $1,000.
Fares in recent weeks have been $835 to $900 with United and Star Alliance airlines Lufthansa and Swiss as recently as last week. Star Alliance airlines are priced in upper $800s.
These fares from Skyteam airline China Southern to New Delhi are also something I saw today for tickets to Male MLE, Maldives in competitively low prices to Star Alliance airlines.
The significance of Priceline ticket screenshot is due to the inability to use China Southern Airlines website to make a ticket booking. I experienced the same issue when trying to book a ticket LAX-MLE Male, Maldives on China Eastern Airlines earlier today. These Chinese airline websites do not work in my browser.
San Francisco SFO – BOM Mumbai India $825 United Airlines-Star Alliance
United operated flights from SFO to Mumbai BOM are as low as $825 round trip in November 2015 flying SFO-EWR Newark and EWR-BOM Mumbai in a single 15-hour flight.
Star Alliance airlines Lufthansa and Swiss are other options to United Airlines or in combination with United flights.
SFO-BOM United outbound-Swiss inbound flights is $835. SFO-BOM on Lufthansa via Frankfurt is $840 round trip.
Checked New York JFK and airfare is in the upper $800s on Air India.
Checked Houston IAH and similar United/Star Alliance airfare available in mid $800s and AIr France has fare about $875.
All in all, the China Southern $812 airfare from SFO–DEL is probably near the low fare for this route that is unlikely to drop below $750 round trip in 2015.
